Today I ran into a bunch of issues when installing JSBin on Windows 10. The solution was simple, but time-consuming to figure it out. The basic install instructions are located here, and this is what I added:

  • Be sure to use an older version of Node.js – I used version 0.10.41, but you can probably use anything from 0.10 to (but not including) 0.11.
  • I added a flag to the install of jsbin via npm: ‘npm install -g jsbin –msvs_version=2013’, specifying that I have Visual Studio 2013 installed [edit: this may not actually be nesseary, so try without it]

That’s it! Additional info: the latest version on Github is not necessarily available in the Node.js repository.
